Deadly Crush Deadly Trilogy Book 1 Ashley Stoyanoff Books
This is a very annoying poorly done book.First off there is the unending angst that's ladled on by all the characters. No one can be honest or straightforward with one another, they all have to deceive the people they allegedly care about and then get hugely upset and whiny when it backfired and the person they lied to got angry. It was all about the games for these people and that made them thoroughly unattractive human beings.
No one bothers to tell one character who's just become a werewolf what the werewolf laws are, the person's 'soulmate' just expectsthem somehow to know--something that's especially inexcusable when the penalty for breaking many of these laws is death. How is that fair or reasonable? And why would an author write an MC who casually jeopardizes their soulmate's life? How can the reader respect that person or want them to succeed?
SPOILERS
Then there are all the games the MCs are playing with one another. He lies and tricks her...all for his own good, of course. So she gets all furious about how he ruined everything and her solution is to lie and trick him...all for his own good, of course. There was also no real explanation for how viciously hostile Jade was toward the pack. It seemed like more was going on than just Jade's hurt at feeling abandoned and denied by Dominic when he was turned.
Emotional levels were an issue throughout the book. Everyone was wildly reactive and the relationships and reactions often didn't make sense or were inconsistent.

Deadly Crush Deadly Trilogy Book 1 Ashley Stoyanoff Books Reviews
Don't know why I let this one sit on my TBR list for so long because it's a wonderful, quick, exciting read.
Jade is a teenage girl who loathes one thing about her town--the werewolves. They don't hide, but rather stick their cocky muzzles into everything and nobody in towns seems to mess around with them or mind them. When a hot, new guy steps in, she falls for him instantly and is especially won over with the fact that he can't be a part of that stupid pack. Obviously, things aren't quite that simple though.
I read this in one sitting and loved every moment of it. I'm not necessarily a huge fan of werewolves, but this one worked for me. The pack has a great presence while letting the individuals really shine through. There's a lot of tension in several of the relationships and even some interesting twists. Each character has their own story to share, which lets them all come to life. Some are easy to like, while others are easy to hate. . .and some are full of surprises.

The pacing is well done and there's never a boring moment. There are several fight scenes which are well described, and the author does a great job of bringing the wolves actions detailed but naturally to life. Of course, it's the romance which sticks out the most and takes over a lot of the plot. Since it's not an easy romance and there are so many other things going on, the tension is kept high and there's a nice level of uncertainty to it.
Sometimes feel a bit overly dramatic on the character's decision or reactions, but it's fitting to the age group...and shape-shifters are probably impulsive folks. The only real problem I had with it was the ending. It's a complete cliff hanger with tons of loose ends and begs for a continuation in book two.
This book is seriously cringe worthy. There is no plot worth speaking of. The characters refuse to communicate. Most of the character decisions don't make any sense. The attitudes and assumptions in this world are incredibly sexist. (The "good guys" treat women as personal possessions; the "bad guys" treat women as communal possessions.) And to top it all off, there isn't an ending. Seriously, the book just stops in the middle of yet another character squabble.
Holy moly, I LOVED this book! From start to finish, Ashley had me on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out the next solution to her amazing plot twists. (some of which I had NO idea were coming!!!) First let's touch on the plot. Jade is a bit well, jaded, when it comes to the were wolves in her town. to her they walk around like they own the place and that really irks her. So when she meets and falls for Aiden, the new guy in town, she gets her fair share of surprises when she finds out that he is the new Alpha of the the pack. The story unfolds with not only Jade's feelings towards Aiden and the pack, but also Aiden's pov on his new role as Alpha, the pack dynamics, and Jade. I don't want to give too much away because this book really is fun and there is just too much that weaves together to form a really solid plot line.
Jade is a killer lead. She is a fierce bitch. And when I say bitch I mean Being In Total Control of Herself. She is strong and really sticks to her convictions. I love how she handles herself as this strong independent woman, but also knows when to ask for help. She is a character to look up to.
Aiden is just plain old delicious. I want one. He is strong but also willing to admit when he wrong. He doesn't like to use his influence as alpha to harm and get his way. I just can't say enough good things about him. YUMMY!! Even though he is a bit misguided when it comes to wooing Jade (then again what man isn't misguided when it comes to women, let's be serious here) he still tries to do the right thing by her.
Jade's friends, Dom and Mac are really funny. They provide a bit of comic relief for me. Mac is the best friend every girl wants to have. She is hysterical and would give you the shirt off your back. She always means well even if she goes about things the wrong way.
Over all I loved this story. I feel like the characters were really well written and the plot was great. I recommend this book to anyone wanting a good, fast, read. I finished this book in a few hours and it really had me wanting more. I really want the next book to come out like... yesterday! I NEED to know what happens!!! I hate cliff hangers!
